t.t.t.townieeeeee

Lately Scott and I have been riding our bikes to the gym to work out. Have I told you about my bike? She’s a beaut! Here she is.

Actually, I have two bikes. My cruiser, and my road bike. I’m not so fond of my road bike. We tolerate each other much like apathetic co-workers. I recognize I need to ride her and she returns the favor by causing pain and knashing of teeth and fainting spells. She’s a bitch, really.

My cruiser though, ohhhh I love that bike. She’s an Electra, Townie balloon with a tangerine paint job. I’m not exaggerating when I say I get compliments on that bike every time I ride it. Really, every time, sometimes 2, 3, 4 times per spin. People even honk and holler out the window. They say things like “nice tits” “back that thang up”, I assume they’re talking about the bike. I’m modest. Seriously though, that bike is good for the self-esteem. This is why we have such a good relationship.

I got the bike for my 27th birthday. Scott also decided he needed one for my 27th birthday too. His is the male version of mine, in gray. I knew instantly that the bike was worth every penny when I fell in love with the bike shop girl who sold me the bike. She was like, that bike’s good, but this one’s better and then brought out the tangerine and I was like, I’ll take it! You can sell me anything! I’ve had two major girl crushes in my life. 1) Maggie Gyllenhaal, and 2) Bike shop girl. Don’t you think it’s weird how you can just meet someone and instantly connect with them? Like you were former friends or lovers in a past life or something? Did I just say “lovers?” Some people you meet and you’re just like, I love you, I don’t know you, but I love you. That was bike shop girl. And now this post has suddenly turned into some strange lesbian bike shop fantasy.

If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up…it is so choice! (name that movie)

  4. That bike looks so comfortable, I'm jealous. I have a complete love/hate relationship with my bike. I love exercising outdoors but I hate how uncomfortable it is.

  5. Katy, you crack me up! Since we only communicate through blog comments, I thought I'd update you on a few things :). 1) We painted the cabinets white. Good recommendation. 2) I think we're going to use a green subway tile for the backsplash. Nate doesn't love it, but I think it looks rad. 3) I would love it if you took pictures of Baby Girl Brown. I'll totally take you up on that offer!
