Body for Life day 7

Well it's been one week. 1 week down 11 to go. I lost 2.2 lbs and quite honestly, I thought it would be more. I'm 100% sure it was due to the diet because I worked my ass of in the gym. It may even be due to not enough calories becasue overall the food was pretty darn good. I know for sure I didn't get enough protein, but other than that I ate very healthy. I ended up getting an egg protein drink that is lactose and wheat free with no artifical sweetners. It's not like "yummmmmmmmmmm" it's more like "ehhhhhhhh." It's drinkable and that's really all that matters I suppose.

I don't know at what point my stomach got so sensitive, but even this egg drink is proving to be a challenge. I'm not certian it's the drink, so I'll keep drinking it for the next few days to be sure, but as of now it's not looking good. The egg protien is supposed to be the protien drink for those with food allergies and sensitive stomachs, so I'm not sure where to go from here if this doesn't work. I suppose just getting the raw protien powder? Who knows?

Both Friday AND Saturday proved to be a huge challenge. We went to an Olympic party on Friday and on Saturday we went to a Valentine's day get together. Saturday was like walking into the gates of Heaven. Cupcakes, brownies, m&m's, cookies, chocolate fondue. It took everything I had to act like a civilized woman and not shove every last crumb into my mouth. Let the record note that I had water, 4 strawberries (which we brought) and ONE tiny candy message heart. The host graciously brought out two types of gum for me to chew on to try and minimize the cravings. Nothing says satisfaction like a piece of strawberry banana trident instead of a chocolate cupcake. It totally fealt like a promo moment on the bigest loser where they recommend chewing "extra sugar free gum" instead of eating...whatever. I really don't know if I could have gotten through the weekend without Scott. It makes it easier to know that someone else is doing this with me.

PS- I think I consumed enough calories today to get me through the next week. It included a trip to the Walnut Brewery, which is Rock Bottom's flagship restuarant in Boulder. Ah-mazing! Seriously the best meal ever. Why? Because we worked HARD for it.

My goal for this next week- 5 lbs.

Updates to follow...

  1. I haven't tried, nor heard of the egg protein drink... but if I eat eggs solo, like fried/scrambled/poached eggs, it hurts my tummy. If eggs are in cookies/cake/etc, I'm fine. hmmmm.

Keep it up! You can do it! Early AM workout tomorrow!
