Body for Life day 12

Twelve days. TWELVE DAYS. That's almost 2 weeks which is the longest I've stayed with any workout/diet plan in my adult life. This is a milestone folks! A big one.

I know there's contraversy about weighing every day. Some say yes, some no, but as for me and my house, we will serve the scale. Even scott weighs every day and he only weighs like 187 or something like that. That being said, I've already lost 2.2 lbs this week and I don't have my official weigh in until Sunday morning (right before the binge.) I hope to lose another 2 lbs lbs for the week. That would be really amazing. As for the binge joke. I'm not going on an eating frenzy like last Sunday. My stomach was very angry with me and it put a damper on the rest of the day following my chicken fried chicken excursion. Oh but mmmmmmmmm, chicken fried chicken. I don't know what we'll do for Sunday's eat fest. Scott has declaired every Sunday night pizza night. I can't do pizza, too much cheese for this lactose girl. He could eat pizza every day. He's a Chicago boy through and through.

Yesterday I was so tempted to get a candy bar or some kind of chemical laden snack cake from the gas station. I was craving sweets so bad, but then I thought back to the prior day where I gave up the holy sandwich and how great my body reacted. I just thought I can't undo my progress from yesterday. That's why it was so redeeming to see I had lost an additional 2.2 lbs this morning. The feeling of acomplishment is slowly...slowly...bit by bit starting to feel better than eating crap food. The lure of a lower number on the scale is begining to urge me away from my no no foods.

I really believe busting ass in the gym really makes you think twice about what you eat. BFL, Bill Phillips says that the workouts are the spark and the food is the fuel and you have to have both to start a flame. That really has stuck with me the past 12 days. It's like I'm not going to work so hard in the gym only to counteract that with bad food.

  1. Congratulations on reaching your milestone! And for your great results on the scale. I am right there with you on the temptation vs hardwork being undone. It's so hard to deny the craving in the moment. But the sense of accomplishment at the end of a good, disciplined week is a good feeling.

  3. Erin, I write for a very narrow part of society sometimes...but when people GET IT, it's GOLD, huh? I'm so witty, I don't know what to do with myself.
