Week 4-The chance to totally redeem yourself!

Here's the thing.

Here's the thing, I'm slowly turning into my husband because he starts 70% of his conversations with the phrase "here's the thing." But really, Here's the thing.

I want to lose like a lot of weight this week. You do to? So let's do it.

Here's the thing. I figure if I can let the laundry creep up the wall for a month, then knock it all out in a weekend, then surely I can lose 9 lbs in one week, thereby totally redeeming my self and securely placing my butt right smack dab in the middle of the pack. (what? I wore this cardigan 3 days ago? What? These cropped jeans don't go with my dansko's, what?) Lay off, I'm a professional procrastinator.

Here's the thing, if I'm going to be a WILF by my 30th birthday, I've got to get crackin' because November is going to be here in a flash. Hello, the Summer solstice was yesterday!

ah-k, here's the plan.

We all lose enough weight this week to put us into the next set of 10's. For instance, if you're 229, you've got to lose 10 lbs to put you into the "two-teens" if you're 161, you've got to lose 2 lbs to put you into the 150's. If you're 305 you've got to lose 6 lbs to put you into the 290's. Some of us have a lot to lose, some a little, but regardless, let's allow ourselves push beyond our mental boundaries of whatever weight bracket we're in. We all think we know our limits, but when was the last time we really tested them? Like reeeeeealllllllly tested them?

I think the most weight I've lost ever in a week is about 3.5 lbs. I'm not suggesting that's bad...not at all. In fact, it's great! But, I know deep down I can do better. So here's your chance to dig deep and figure out what you're made of.

Also, this is the perfect way to totally redeem my self for the past 3 weeks I called "trying."

PS-I'm not suggesting anyone go about weight loss in an unhealthy way. What I am suggesting, is that (for me) I have a lot more in me than a measly 1 lb loss every other week. It's just pathetic, let's call it like it is. I want to lose weight not just think about it and how great it would be. If you feel the same way, then climb aboard.

UPDATE: PSS- Really, I'm not suggesting that anyone freak out on me and take laxitives or diet pills just to break their 10 lb bracket. I'm just saying, that I think if we take a good hard look, chances are we'll find room for improvement. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Anyone who gets out of their 10 lb bracket will be entered into a drawing for next week's prize. It's a fun prize, so put on your shoes and shake, shake, shake that shake weight!

  6. I'm right there with you. I make a conscious effort to eat better, eat less, workout just a little bit more... but I lose momentum the second half of the week, thus only losing one pound. Thanks for the encouragement and motivation to work harder.

  8. Wow....r u reading my mind???!!! or do great minds think alike~ I looked to see what time you posted -- my email did not make you think this, because I sent out my email with my weight loss at approx.9:30 or so....I have to lose 1.8 lbs to be in the next bracket....and dang it....I am going to do it....I was so excited when I weighed myself this morning, because last week was a measely .1 that is right 1/10th of a pound...so when I weighed in this morning and lost 2.7 -- I was excited to say the least...and knew I wanted to at least get down in the next 10lb range for next weeks weigh in~ Thanks for this awesome challenge that is helping all us slackers get back on track!! And look at Alissa (week 1 winner) --10lbs, and Dani (week 2 winner) -11.6 lbs...holy crap...you can do it too! Can't wait till everyone checks in next week to see how everyone did!

  9. Awesome contest and just the motivation I need to step back on the wagon instead of holding on by a finger. I was up by 4 lbs this past week but down to just a 1 lb gain by today so I'm happy for that.
