Sweat like it's your job!

Yesterday I had an epic workout! I'm not one to post food journals or workout details, but it has to be said...I kicked ass yesterday!

Here's how it went down

15 minutes on the eliptical-HARD
Chest & Back
15 more minutes on the elipical-HARD and FAST
Shoulders
15 more minutes on the eliptical-HARD and FAST and FASTER
Triceps & Biceps

The eliptical is a funny thing. You see some women reading their US weekly magazines with full on makeup, walking out of a Lulumon catalog, then there's me. Wearing my uber sexy outfit of old GAP workout pants, and a men's white v-neck undershirt with a turquise sports bra that you can see through the shirt. I know, hotness!!!

The US Weekly women barely break a sweat. Mostly because they're barely moving. It's like, if you're gonna work out...WORK! I know a lot of people read magazines or books, but I bounce around so much my eyes can't even track the words. Just can't do it.

So anyways, I was at the gym for 2 hours yesterday and sweat like it was my job! I felt great afterwards. I'm gonna make the scale my bitch this week.

Week 3 results will be up later today...stay tuned.

Here are a couple great quotes that I got from Scott this morning.

All great changes are preceded by chaos. - Deepak Chopra

The greatest potential for control tends to exist at the point where action takes place. - Louis Allen

  2. Just be careful about expectations! I worked out harder than I've ever worked out in my life (got in 60 miles of activity plus some last week) and gained 3 pounds.

Now, I know it's not real weight -- it's because I worked out so hard and my body is recovering -- but it's certainly disappointing when logic would dictate that this would be the best!week!evah! on the scale.

And it's anything but! So ... careful about expectations. Do it because it's the right thing to do for your health and NOT because you want to see X, Y or Z on the scale.

    Does that make sense?

  4. Yes, it's upsetting when you set high expectations and they aren't met within a set timeframe. But I know you are trying your hardest and focusing on your goal. You have weight to lose (it's not like you're a size 2 trying to get down to a size 00.), and you're doing it safely through diet and exercise. You're not even working out 6-8 hours a day like "real" Biggest Loser contestants, who are working out under a doctor's supervision. Keep going for it. I know you're not going to go nuts on us and live off of lemon juice and cayenne pepper for the rest of Week 4. :)

  6. Hope you make the scale your bitch & it whimpers after you kick it...just kidding (I'm not into hurting animals if that comes to mind). I liked that part though:-) Made me giggle, Gina (p90xonegirlsstory.blogspot.com)

  7. Ha! I thought I was all cool with my new neon green 'Just do it' Nike shirt at the gym today.. I finished, took it off to get in the shower, and I have turned into Kermit the Frog!! The dye bled onto my skin everywhere!! I have green armpits, green boobs, and a green belly-button!!
So, don't sweat all those fashionistas.. they are multicolored :p

    Cheers,
    Missa

  8. Way to make it yours. I laugh at the pre-showered make-up wearing magazine models at the gym cuz when I am done it looks like I hopped in the pool fully clothed.....One question...How do they look so good???? Is it lipo? LOL

  9. That's awesome! I know what you mean. What about those women that are all made up and on the elliptical and just chatting away on their phone. Seriously, if you're not going to do the WORK in the work out, get off the machine and let someone on who will!

  10. I am with you on the elliptical, I cannot possibly even think about reading something, i would spend an hour reading the same sentence over and over while I lose my place then find it again. I hate (secretly wish I was them) the made up hardly breaking a sweat girls (who are always super skinny and dont really need to be working out!).

I wish I could have a super awesome loss, I think the biggest loss I have had in a single week is 4lbs, that was my first week of weight watchers, more than 18 months ago! I would need to lose 4.5lbs to be in the 160s this week - dont thinks its going to happen, we can but wish though. Good luck this week!

  11. I love the idea of the challenge but since I weighed in at 228.8 I'm thinking getting to 219.9 or less is probably not gonna happen. I am still working harder this week though, so we shall see! What's your thought on having a weekly challenge of some sort-be it physical or food-related? Heidi
