Ok, so it's over

Body for Life, round one OVER!

I lost 15 lbs AND 15 inches.

13 of those inches were from a combination of my bust, natural waist, waist measured at my belly button and my hips. The pregnant sandwich belly has gone down a lot. A LOT! I still could pass for a pregnant woman some days, but a mildly pregnant woman. Maybe 3 months.

The best thing about this whole thing is that I fit into my skinny jeans. Skinny being a relitive term. I fit into the smallest pair of jeans I currently own-size 16.

When we started Body for Life I couldn't even get them up over my thighs. I could almost get them up, but the crotch of the jeans never hit my actual crotch. Just trying to be detailed people!

I tried them on again about a month ago and I could get them up...barely, but they were still a couple inches from closing at the waist. In the past month I've lost almost nothing on the scale so I was really hesitant to try them on yesterday after the final weigh in.

I decided to risk it and try them on and I'm so so glad I did because guess what, they FIT!!! I could get them up... all the way up and button them. I was so excited, I ran down stairs to show Scott. They fit, they fit, they fit! I was so happy I couldn't stop smiling.

Having a resting heart rate of 59 makes me happy. Having a blood pressure of 122/73 makes me really happy. Having a total cholostral of 173 makes me happy too, but the thing that makes me the happiest is fitting into those jeans. Call me crazy, but fitting into a 16 is like opening back up a world of shopping oportunities.

It's a good feeling, real real good. I feel totally energized to do this again and lose more and more weight.

I'm taking this week off from BFL. I'll keep my food in check, but I probably won't do a ton of exercise. It's so time consuming and I could use a break. Scott's mom is in town too so it will be nice to not have to live at the gym while she's here.

I think instead of blogging about weight loss this week, I'll blog about me... so you can get to know me for something other than my body. Hey, eyes up HERE! Is there a better topic to talk about? I think not.

What big milestone did you hit that made you feel like all your hard work was paying off?

  3. Congratson the smaller jeans! That is so very exciting!! :)

My milestone was a few months ago when I was staying at a hotel for business. I could wrap the WHOLE TOWEL around me without it gaping in the middle.

Granted, it was a bigger towel than the slightly-bigger-than-a-hand-towel ones that most hotels provide, but it made me feel littler than I've felt in a long time. :)

  5. Congratulations! You should print out this post and frame it and put it above your treadmill or something for those days when you run out of motivation.

I'm totally with you on shopping options. I love rewarding myself either with new clothes or by getting the ones I already own tailored. It's amazing how much better I look when I wear clothes that fit!

My victory moment was this morning when I tried on a pair of leather jeans that were too small a few months ago. They're too big now! I damn near high-fived the mirror. :)

  7. Yay! That is so amazing! Way to go, Katy! My milestone that I hit last weekend was that the scale said a number that I have not seen since I was in college. Ok, that was only 2 1/2 years ago, but that is still a long time!
