OK, time to vent!
Why have I not lost more weight? Huh? HUH?
This is not one of those moments where someone is like "gee, I don't know why I'm not losing weight." Meanwhile, they're secretly eating cupcakes every day. I'm being honest with myself with what I'm eating and I'm working out HARD 6 days a week. The only thing I can think of (take that back, the only 2 things) it could be are
1) Sandwiches for lunch.
2) Not enough calories
Here's what I had Monday
Breakfast: Protein Drink
Snack: Apple
Lunch: Tuna sub from Subway with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese jalapeno, vinegar. Sun chips (this is not the best, but it's not like a freeking piece of cake)
Dinner: Ground turkey, black beans, corn, rotel tomato mix with chili powder on a bed of greens. Portion size on this was a spatula size. Like if you were to scoop a mound on your hand. not THAT much. Plus I finished about half of it.
Snack: Half a banana with a tbl spoon of peanut butter
Here's what I had Tuesday:
Breakfast: 2 pieces of whole wheat toast lightly buttered with an egg
Lunch: Turkey, avocado, onion, greens, tomato, cheese sandwich. Chips
Dinner: Brown rice, grilled chicken with broccoli, carrots and cabbage. 2 table spoons of Hoisen sauce-low sodium (made sure of that)
See... aside from the lunch, which isn't even bad at all, just maybe not perfect... I'm doing really well. This scenario was typical of last week's menu as well. So, it's either not enough calories, or the sandwiches at lunch are killing me.
I just have a hard time believing that the sandwiches are preventing my weight loss. Plus, I dont' do that every day. ONLY 2.2 lbs!!! Just doesn't seem right.
I think it's best to calculate out the actual calories I'm consuming... Let's see.
We'll go off of yesterday
Breakfast: 330
Lunch: 980.ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ok, enough said
Dinner:420
Total 1730
OK, thanks [self] I've seen the light. No more sandwiches unless I make them myself... and they're open faced.
LOL. 'nuff said.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the food is a tough one with BFL. Apparently if you follow their plan to the letter, butter and cheese are not recommended, and I think they recommend just the white of the egg.....The "legal" BFL foods are not much fun!
ReplyDeleteFYI, I do the whole egg. The yolk is good for you.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I try to cut out is cheese. The sandwhich doesn't taste THAT different without the cheese and it's just kind of a needless fat. I'd rather have a scoop of ice cream.
ReplyDeleteLoving reading these and VERY proud of your discipline.
